3.3kviews

Deon Lendore, a volunteer assistant coach at Texas A & M, died in a car accident on Monday.

Authorities say that the 29-year-old was involved in a head-on collision in College Station while driving home after practice. His vehicle had steered across the middle lane, sideswiped a car, and then came in contact with a SUV.

Lendore was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, a 65-year-old woman, was transported to a medical facility with extensive injuries.

The driver that was sideswiped wasn’t injured.

The crash is being investigated.

Lendore ran in the 2012, 2016, 2020 Olympics and helped Trinidad and Tobago receive a bronze medal in the 1,600 meter relay in London in 2012.

In 2014, no one ever beat him in 14 races in the 400-meters during the NCAA championships.
