Over 1,300 kilograms of cocaine, disguised as frozen potatoes and chips, have been seized by police in Colombia. They say that this is one of the most creative ways to smuggle drugs that they have observed in the last few years.

Authorities say that they were suspicious about the products because there was no expiration date.

“The intelligence of the @PoliciaColombia dealt a resounding blow to drug trafficking by seizing a shipment of refrigerated and vacuum-sealed cocaine simulating Yucca and Creole potatoes. The shipment was destined for Spain.”

More than 50 people and drug-sniffing dogs worked to find the drugs. An anonymous caller had also alerted authorities.

A video posted to Twitter shows officials taking the cocaine out of the counterfeit potatoes. Authorities say that traffickers used hydraulic presses to form the substances.

An investigation is now underway to determine who sent the shipment.
