Byron Allen In The Race To Become The NFL’s First Black Owner

NFL commissioner Roger Godell and Robert Craft, the CEO of the New England Patriots, spoke with Bryon Allen, in 2019, about the direction of the league.

As Black History Month is in progress, Allen is now in the race to become the NFL’s first Black owner.

Allen is an ex-televison host and former comedian. He currently serves as the chairman and chief executive officer at Allen Media Group.

“…after serious consideration, I strongly believe that I can help effectuate positive changes throughout the league. And for that reason, I will be making a bid for the Denver Broncos,” Allen announced.

Sources reveal that Allen and the Broncos are teaming up with bankers. They have chosen Allen & Co. Investment Group to take care of the deal. The suspected cost of owning the team is said to be between $3 and $4 billion.

In the past, Robert F. Smith, a Black American investor, was in the running for ownership of an NFL team. However, he has halted his consideration.

As the NFL deals with issues like race and social injustice, Allen becoming an owner could assist the league in going down the correct path.
