The coyote believed to be responsible for biting 3 children at a park in Arlington has been captured.

On Saturday and Monday, two children were reportedly bitten by a coyote while playing at Parkway Central Park in Arlington. The park was closed on Tuesday after a third child was bitten.

Search efforts around the park and neighborhood nearby began shortly after the park closure. On Thursday morning, Animal Services with assistance from the Arlington Police Department captured the coyote suspect.

The animal was shot with a projectile, which is less lethal than a gun, and detained. It will be euthanized before it is sent to Texas Health and Human Services in Austin for testing.

Parkway Central Park remains closed until further notice.

  1. Look how terrified this poor thing is… all for satisfying the lynch mob mentality. There was no evidence or testimony that the bites came from a coyote. Not to mention that the coyotes that were frequenting the park were being FED by people in the first place! Guess what???? Coyotes are ‘mouthy’ just like certain breeds of dogs. If they are being fed and they approach a human, small or not, they are going to think they are going to be FED! Then comes the random, let’s capture the one that is most comfortable around humans to capture. EASY PEASEY! Got him/her… now let’s put it down and take it’s head, test whether or not it is rabid. So we can appease the MEDIA… SOCIAL and otherwise. Total BULLSH. That is where I stand.
