On Wednesday, Dave & Buster’s Entertainment announced that they will be acquiring the entertainment company, Main Event. The Dallas-based business is being bought for $835 million.

After the deal has completely been done, Main Event’s CEO, Chris Morris, will be identified as the CEO of Dave & Buster’s.

Right now, Main Event entertainment has 50 facilities. It is most known for laser tag, virtual reality games, sports bar-type selections, and bowling.

“We are thrilled to join the Dave & Buster’s family. We will undoubtedly benefit from the collective expertise and strong culture of both brands…,” said Morris.

The deal is expected to close this year. It will permit Main Event to still manage its own brand under the Dave & Buster’s umbrella.

Since 2018, Chris Morris has been the president and CEO of Main Event. During this time, he has increased their brand by 30%.

“Chris is a proven and successful transformational leader. He is capable of taking the combined organization to the next level,” stated Dave & Buster’s board chair.
