In a new trailer for her two-night, four-hour documentary, “Janet,” singer Janet Jackson,55, talked about the child molestation charges against her brother, the late Michael Jackson.
The singer was questioned on whether she felt that the accusations against Michael had an impact on her career.
“Yeah..guilty by association,” Janet responded. She stated that when Michael was accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy in 1993, his father just wanted money. He received $15 million in a settlement.
“Now if this really went on, do you think a father would accept the money? Do you think that would make everything ok? It doesn’t make any sense. If that was my son, I don’t care if he gave me a billion dollars, I want to either see you behind bars or dead for doing that to my son, ” she stated.
Michael Jackson was acquitted on four counts of molesting a minor. He had always claimed his innocence.
Janet also expressed how she felt about the way she was treated after her 2004 Super Bowl performance with Justin Timberlake. This was when her shirt was ripped off because of a “wardrobe malfunction.”
“They build you up, and then once you get there, they’re so quick to tear you down,” she says in the trailer that will be featured on Jan. 28 on Lifetime and A & E.
