A New Jersey man was arrested after cops found him lying naked on top of his decapitated mother in an apartment building.
46-year-old Jeffrey Surgent is charged with first-degree murder for the killing of his 74-year-old mother Alexandri Surgent.
On Friday, December 8th at around 4 p.m., Ocean City police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Sixth St. According to dispatch, a man had called 911 stating that he was bipolar and had just killed his mother.
When officers arrived at the apartment building, they discovered the suspect naked, lying on top of a headless body in the hallway. The head was a few feet away, down the hall.
While officers were removing Jeffrey Surgent from the scene, he repeatedly shouted that he killed his mom. He also began singing, “Jesus Loves Me”.
Surveillance footage from the apartment shows the victim’s head flying out of the apartment, into the hallway. The suspect is then seen peeking his head into the hallway before dragging her body out there as well.
He is charged with first-degree murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
