Arlington police are investigating after they found a deceased man laying in a grassy area along interstate 20 and S. Cooper Street.
On July 24, officers responded to a call around 7:30 a.m., after someone noticed a body on the side of the interstate in a ditch. Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
During the investigation officers learned that someone driving a Ford Explorer had reported hitting something, around 12:40 a.m., in the road earlier that morning. They said they pulled over into a parking lot and waited on police to arrive.
Once officers arrived they searched the area but could not find anything. Officers are now investigating to see if the person was struck by the driver of the Ford.
This investigation is ongoing.
