A man in Oregon was apprehended after pretending to be a federal agent. He is also accused of misleading a woman. The woman believed that she was training to be a Drug Enforcement Administration agent for close to a year.

Police in Portland told the DEA ‘s district office that Robert Edward Golden and a woman were impersonating them. They discovered the two as they stood outside a car that had police lights inside of it and on the license plate.

Golden told police that they were the feds, and he was found with a replica of a gun that contained live ammunition. In his possession were a fake DEA vest, tactical gear, handcuffs, and other items. He later told police that the two were involved in costume play.

Golden added that he often used the items for protection or to run red lights.

The woman disclosed to officials that she was a criminal justice student. She also said she had been training for a year to become a DEA agent. She added that Golden had given her a DEA identification card and other credentials.

Golden told authorities that he had taken the woman to speak with homeless people to gain “confidential informants.” This would be needed if “he was no longer around to take care of her.”

Golden faces charges for impersonating a federal agent. It isn’t known if the woman will face any charges.
