An unnamed, 37-year-old man, from Salt Lake City, Utah, died when he was run over by a police car.
The incident occurred in Aurora, Colorado, on Monday at 11:25 p.m. as the man was lying down in the street.
The man had on dark attire and was seen intoxicated at a store close by prior to that. Then, an Aurora Police Department officer, who was in a fully marked police SUV, struck him.
Authorities say the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The officer was on duty but wasn’t on his way to a call when the tragedy took place.
The unidentified officer requested medical attention after the occurrence.
