28-year-old Justin McCall, of Okaloosa County, Florida, unintentionally shot himself during one of several burglaries earlier this year.

Now, he has been sentenced to 20 years in state prison after being found guilty on March 6.

Authorities say that on October 29, 2022, to Jan. 4, of this year, McCall broke into multiple cars in Crestview, Florida. He was later charged with 13 counts.

Not only did McCall steal various things from the cars, he also stole a firearm. While breaking into another vehicle with the stolen gun in his hand, he unintentionally shot himself in the leg. He was then forced to  beg for help for the person whose vehicle he was rummaging through.

Later, detectives found that McCall stole many items and had on the same clothes that he wore while burglarizing other cars.

Additionally, when McCall was committing these burglaries, he was already on probation for Grand Theft of a Firearm.

McCall will now serve a 20-year prison sentence.
