A Mesquite woman has been arrested and charged with the murder of her daughters boyfriend.

On August 27 Dallas police responded to a shooting call on the 4800 block of Ash Lane. Upon arriving they found 34 year old Joshua Troutte with a gunshot wound. He died from his injuries.

During the investigation authorities learned that 49 year old Patricia Conlon was responsible for the deadly shooting.

According to reports Conlon’s daughter told authorities that she had been involved in an ongoing domestic violence disturbance with Troutte since 2021.

The day before the fatal shooting it was said that Conlon’s daughter called her mother and told her that Troutte had hit her above her eye with a cellphone.

The day of the shooting Conlon’s daughter called her mother and asked if she would come help her grab her belongings because she was ending her relationship with Troutte.

When Conlon arrived she claimed she called 911 but entered the residence before officers could arrive. Once inside the residence Troutte’s roommate told police that he could hear him yelling out ‘just shoot me’ before hearing multiple shots fired.

Officers spoke with Conlon who then told them that as she was helping her daughter gather her belongings that Troutte pulled her arm and hair, so she shot him.

After police couldn’t find enough evidence to support Conlon’s statement she was arrested and charged with murder.

The investigation is still ongoing.
