Kellye Weathersby-Canty and her 10-month-old son were found deceased inside the parking garage of a medical center.
On March 23rd, Kellye took her mother to a doctor’s appointment at a local hospital. She parked the car in the medical center’s parking garage and waited inside the car with her son. Unfortunately Kellye and her son didn’t make it out of the parking garage alive.
Father and Husband, DeMarray Canty, states “I ended up calling her, she didn’t answer, so I called her sister back to see if she had talked to her,” he said. “I asked did she have her location?”
DaMarry eventually tracked his wife’s car down. Upon arrival, he found his wife and 10 month old child unresponsive. With the help of bystanders DeMarry successfully broke into the car. Husband explained the moment he grabbing his son, “I got him out of the car seat and I held him and put him to my face,” he said. “I always put his face to my face — but his face was cold,” he said. “And I’m trying to wake him up.”
When medical personnel arrived, they did everything they could, but Kellye and Kanan were lifeless.
DeMarry created a GoFundMe page due to the shock and devastation that hit his family. There was an initial goal of $8,000 but the financial support was overwhelming. They had surpassed $29,000 towards planning two funerals.
