A North Carolina mother was arrested and charged with the murder of her daughter on Thanksgiving day.
According to reports officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on the 3300 block of Krupa Court and when they arrived they found Chante Alexander,37 suffering from a gunshot wound in an apartment complex.
She was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Officers arrested the victims mother Elvira Elizabeth Alexander,56 at the residence and she was charged with second degree murder and possession of a stolen firearm.
It is still unclear what led up to the shooting.
This investigation is ongoing.
