Irving Fire/EMS and police were called to the eastbound lanes of Hwy 114, close to Freeport Parkway, in regards to a major accident on Saturday night, at about 11:32 p.m.
Authorities state that two cars had been involved in an accident.
Following the collision, the two drivers got into a dispute in the middle lane of the highway.
Someone passing by had stopped to assist and was hit and killed by another car while walking across the lanes of the highway. The driver who hit the pedestrian stayed at the location.
Alcohol was not a component of the wreck.
All lanes of the eastbound side of Hwy 114 were shut down.
An investigation is on-going.
