Police Officer Terminated After Trying To Purchase Drugs

1.7kviews

Candace Cole, 36, has been terminated from her job as a Wynne, Arkansas, police officer. After an investigation was conducted, it was found that Cole attempted to purchase drugs while off-duty on Monday.

When authorities were notified of the alleged crime, they handed the matter over to the First Judicial District Drug Task Force. Those agents apprehended Cole, and she was held at the Woodruff County Jail.

Later, Cole was fired by the Wynne Police Department.

“In fact, she should’ve been let go a long time ago,” stated Carl Jones, a resident of the city. He says that the ex-cop would always harass his family, citing that she once apprehended a family member of his and laughed in his face.

Jones added that her arrest didn’t look good for the department since Cole had been “arresting people for buying drugs or doing drugs.”

The department hasn’t disclosed how long Cole had been on the force or if she has a disciplinary record. It also isn’t clear how her apprehension will impact her cases.

On Tuesday, Cole bonded out of jail.
