An off duty officer was involved in a crash early Saturday morning that left a pregnant woman dead.
The crash happened around 2:32 a.m. on interstate 30 near 2nd Avenue. Dallas County Sheriff’s were called to the scene and upon arriving they noticed a stalled Chevrolet Malibu in the center lane.
They then learned that an off duty officer driving a jeep wrangler struck the Malibu.
The occupants inside the Malibu were transported to an area hospital where a pregnant woman was pronounced dead and her unborn child in critical condition.
The off duty officer was also transported to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries before being released.
