Police in Virginia have said that four bodies found at two locations were committed by a serial killer who used shopping carts to carry the women’s dead bodies.
35-year-old Anthony Washington, the “shopping cart killer,” was identified on Friday.
Washington is suspected of meeting the women on dating sites and taking them to motels. He then used blunt force trauma to kill them. Authorities have camera footage of the man transporting some of the deceased victims, in a shopping cart, to a wooded area.
He was apprehended last month and charged with murder after Elizabeth Redmond, 54 and Tonita Smith, 34, were found deceased.
After he was arrested, two more bodies were found in Fairfax County. Cheyenne Brown, has tentatively been identified as the third victim. Her family has named her after recognizing her tattoo although there hasn’t been a positive confirmation, yet.
The fourth victim hasn’t been identified. Her body was found near a container close to a shopping cart.
