A Wisconsin school teacher is accused of having sex with one of her students and buying him a gun for his birthday.

34-year-old Tyesha Bolden, a teacher at Pilgrim Lutheran School in Wauwatosa, is charged with sexual assault of a child and providing a dangerous weapon to a person under 18.

On July 25, an 8th-grade student stole a family member’s car and his mother reported. According to the criminal complaint, the mother informed officers that her son was most likely staying at his teacher’s house and suspected they had a sexual relationship.

The mother said she also found explicit text messages and photos between the two on her son’s phone.

Three days later, the 14-year-old was stopped by police and a Gen 5 Glock 19, which was purchased by Bolden, was located inside the vehicle. Detectives say the gun was given to the boy by his teacher as a birthday gift.

According to the 8th grader, they went to a park and had sex in the woods in June. Shortly after, he asked her to buy him a gun and she gifted it to him on his birthday.

Bolden was fired prior to the investigation with police after school authorities discovered messages between her and the student. She faces more than 40 years in prison if convicted of both felonies.
