Teen Who Impersonated A Medical Professional Now Arrested For Defrauding Car Dealership Of $100k

Zachary Bailey is a 19-year-old who pled guilty to falsely impersonating a physician’s assistant in 2022.

Now, he has been apprehended again for defrauding a car dealership for more than $100,000.

Early Sunday morning, Bailey was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant. Documents show that has been charged with two counts of obtaining property by trick/deception.

Court records reveal that Bailey is accused of selling two cars that weren’t. He sold them to a dealership in Oklahoma for tens of thousands of dollars.

In April, he sold a 2023 Acura MDX to the dealership for $48,000. Then, in May, he went to the dealership and sold them a 2023 Toyota Tundra for $66,500.

Before this, back in 2022, Bailey impersonated a physician’s assistant. He did this in order to get inside of two medical facilities in Corpus Christi, Texas, for almost two months. He was 17 years old at that time. Bailey received scrubs and got a badge from the facilities, stating that he was a traveling physician’s assistant.

Bailey’s deception came to the light after he told hospital workers that he attended Stephens College in Missouri. One ICU nurse was aware that this was all girls school. Then, staff determined that he wasn’t who he said he was.

Later, Bailey pled guilty to acting like a physician’s assistant without a license and forgery of documents, both felonies. He was sentenced to six months probation for that.

Previous to this, Bailey’s criminal history included providing false information in order to obtain residency at an apartment complex. He also used bank fraud to buy a $52,000 BMW and took $4,300 worth of jewelry from Walmart.

Bailey is currently in the Caddo County Jail, located in Oklahoma. He had been apprehended for the supposed car dealership offenses.

Bailey’s bail was set at $200,000.
