Documents show that 44-year-old Phillip Torres was apprehended last week for suspicion of abducting a teenage girl. He is also said to have assaulted her and kept her hostage.
Torres is facing charges of suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment, second-degree assault, and two counts of sexual assault on a child.
On June 21, officers with the Thorton Police Department, in Colorado, answered to a call in connection to a suspicious person. However, they discovered a teenage girl bound by the hands and feet with tape, rope, and ratchet straps. She had been trying to get loose when someone had reported the suspicious behavior by their window.
After several minutes, authorities were able to free the girl.
They say that the teenager was trying to get away from Torres’s residence. He is said to have picked the girl up from Denver, took her to his home in Thorton, sexually assaulted her, and tied her up.
Police added that Torres kept the girl bound and captive in his garage although neighbors hadn’t reported hearing anything.
Eventually, the girl was able to break away.
Torres told authorities he was attempting to assist the girl in getting a bus ticket to South Dakota. He then provided her a steak meal, and then she exited his home about fifteen minutes following that, he said.
On Tuesday, Torres bonded out of jail, and he is set to appear in court on July 6.
He should not have had a bond, too bad he most likely will not be present on his court date
