Three People Shot And Killed In “Racially Motivated” Attack At A Dollar General

1.9kviews

On Saturday, three people were killed in a “racially motivated” shooting at a Dollar General in Jacksonville, Florida.

All of the people that were killed were Black, and the assailant talked about hate in his writings that were discovered by authorities.

As he shot two men and a woman with an AR-15 style rifle and a handgun, the gunman wore a tactical vest. He turned the gun on himself afterwards, and no other injuries had been reported.

Although the suspect had been described as a white man in his early 20s, his name hasn’t been publicly released. He is thought to have resided in Clay County with his parents and texted his father prior to the shooting.

At close to 1:18 p.m., he messaged his father and told him to look at the computer. By 1:53 p.m., the shooter’s relatives had contacted authorities, but the shooting had already started in Jacksonville.

Images of his firearm were taking, showing one of them with swastikas on it.

The incident is now being reviewed as a hate crime.
