Two Indicted After Stealing Credit Card Numbers And Buying Thousands Of Dollars Worth Of Tires

2.3kviews

Two people have been arrested for their part in a plan to use stolen credit card numbers to purchase thousands of dollars worth of tires.

30 year-olds Eboni Arps of Waco and Brandon Alexander of Dallas were federally indicted.

Alexander now has to pay $341,520 in fines. Additionally, he must serve 57 months in prison for the theft.

Arps pleaded guilty to misprision of a felony. She must do one year in federal prison for her involvement.

In 2017, commercial truck tires were being bought at stores in Elm Mott, Mexia, and Fairfield. 15 credit cards were used at 41 stores. None of the purchases was authorized.

The man called tires shops and made the purchases over the phone. Then, he would use a rental truck, that was also paid for with the stolen credit cards, to pick up the tires.

Cell phone records indicate that Alexander and Arps communicated during the tire thefts.
