Woman Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison After Receiving Over $1 Million In PPP Loan Money

A California woman was sentenced to 3 years in prison after she received over $1 million in PPP loan money.

Christina Burden,32 a resident of Oakland was arrested February of 2021 in Austin, Tx.

According to reports Burden was an accountant who created multiple businesses in 2020 and applied for over $4.5 million in PPP loans and Economic Injury Disaster Loans.

She claimed to have over 80 employees and a monthly payroll of $700,000.

During the investigation detectives learned that she never used the money for her business she instead bought lavish gifts and luxury cars.

She also took trips on private jets.

Last week Burden plead guilty to two counts of bank fraud and two counts of money laundering.

She was sentenced to 36 months in federal prison plus three years of supervised release. Burden will also have to pay $1,143,191 in restitution to the feds.
