Woman Sentenced To 17 Years In Prison For Tasing And Robbing An Elderly Woman In Burleson

A woman who used a taser to rob an elderly woman back in 2019 has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.
The incident happened back on November 27,2019 in the parking lot of a Burleson strip mall.
The victim was getting her 5 year old granddaughter out of the car when Nakayla Wright and another woman approached her.
Wright tasered the woman and stole her purse before getting into a white suv and fleeing the scene.
Wright went to a store and was caught on surveillance using the stolen credit card from the woman’s purse.
She was eventually tracked down along with two others, Traci Cahill and Jason Simmons, and arrested on December 5,2019.
On December 30,2020 Wright plead guilty to attacking the elderly woman and was sentenced to 17 years in prison.
Cahill remains in jail and Simmons is out on bond.
Both are still awaiting trial.
