In a heartbreaking incident at Southeast Raleigh High School, 15-year-old Delvin Ferrell lost his life after a 14-year-old student stabbed him during a fight.

Even with this devastating loss, Ferrell’s family expressed forgiveness towards the accused murderer.
“We are a forgiving family and don’t hold any ill will”, the family stated.
Following the fight that led to the teens death and another student being stabbed, Southeast Raleigh High School closed temporarily.

The suspect is in custody and faces a juvenile petition, with a custody hearing scheduled.

Family and friends of Delvin Ferrell gathered for a vigil, remembering him as someone who enjoyed video games and sports.

The motive behind the altercation still remains undisclosed. The suspect’s mother claims her son acted in self-defense, while the District Attorney anticipates transferring the case to Superior Court to try the 14-year-old as an adult.
