Early Sunday morning, a pair of 19-year- old twins were stabbed at a Brooklyn corner store after rejecting their assailant’s advances. One of the girls died in the assault, and the other one was placed in the hospital in stable condition.

Close to 2:20 a.m., inside of Slope Natural Plus on Fourth Avenue, in Park Slope, Samiya Spain and her sister, Saniya, were with friends and family members.

After the assailant tried to talk to the girls but was turned down, the attacker became angry, family members say. The owner of the store then instructed the man to leave.

“He started kicking on the door. He started banging on the door. I don’t know if they called the police. But at that time, the store owner should have called. And then when the twins left the store, that’s what he attacked them,” stated the girls’ grandfather.

Samiya was declared deceased at a medical facility after being stabbed in the chest. Her sister is in stable condition after she was stabbed in the arm.

A family member reported that after going to a club, the group went to a house party where the suspects were, too. But, Spain did not know her attacker.

The group had gone into the deli following the party and had seen the two men who made advances toward them and became upset after their advances were rejected.

The men ran from the location, documents state.

No apprehensions have been made, and an investigation is continuing.
