36 Year Old Man Charged With 68 Year Old Wife’s Death

A Mississippi man is accused of murdering his wife, who was found dead in her home on Tuesday.

According to the Columbia Police Department, Ellis J. Peavy, 36, killed his 68-year-old wife, Patricia L. Peavy.

On Tuesday at 10:14 a.m., Officers responded to the 400 block of McNeese Street in reference to an unresponsive female. When they arrived to the residence, they found Patricia Peavy dead inside.

The Major Crime Bureau was called to the scene where they determined that injuries sustained to her body were consistent with homicide.

Investigators performed an investigation and arrested Ellis J. Peavy.

Investigators did not suggest a specific motive, however, the couple had a long history of domestic violence.

An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday, April 21 and the investigation is pending the results.

Ellis Peavy remains at the Marion County Jail with a $1.5 million bond.
