Over $4 million worth of methamphetamine was found hidden in vegetables at a Texas-Mexico border checkpoint last week.

On Friday at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility in Pharr, Texas, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers flagged a trailer trying to enter.

The trailer, which arrived from Mexico, had 2,232 packages inside of it. The packages weighed nearly 500 pounds collectively and contained vegetables inside of them.

A further inspection of the cases of vegetables led to the discovery of large amounts of methamphetamine.

CBP officers estimate the total amount of drugs seized is worth $4.36 million.
