On Sunday night, a 4 year-old shot himself in the head in High Point, North Carolina.
When authorities arrived to the residence, the boy was sprawled out on the floor. He had endured a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.
Authorities attempted to provide life-saving measures, and the child was transported to a hospital. However, he passed away from his injuries.
Authorities questioned several observers. Then, they learned that the owner of the home, Cindy V. Gibson-Harris was having a gathering. People were eating, playing cards, drinking alcohol, and smoking marijuana.
No one was watching the child at the time that he discovered the gun in the couch.
Gibson-Harris has been charged with felony possession of cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for the use of controlled substances.
Additionally, Jasmine Fagan, the 29 year-old mother, was charged with felony child abuse.
The investigation is on-going.
