8 Year Old Arrested After Stealing Car At Gunpoint And Leading Police On Chase

An 8 year old Alabama boy was arrested after he allegedly stole a car at gunpoint and then led police on a chase.

Montgomery police responded to a call on West Fairview Avenue, around 11 a.m., for a reported stolen car. Not long after, they spotted the stolen vehicle near East South Boulevard and Norman Bridge Road and attempted to pull the car over.

The boy refused to pull over and led police on a chase. While trying to getaway the 8 year old crashed into another vehicle on West Fairview Avenue and South Court Street ending the chase.

No one was reportedly injured in the crash.

The boy was arrested and charged with first degree robbery, attempting to elude and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm. He is being held at the Montgomery County Youth Detention Facility.

Authorities also recovered a handgun from the scene.
