A father was killed in front of his family while trying to purchase a car from an online seller.
The incident took place in South Los Angeles on Friday around noon. LA County Deputies were responding to what they believed was a traffic call when they found the victim with a gunshot wound.
Officials say the victim was meeting with someone from online to checkout a car to purchase. The victim brought his wife, daughter and grandchild with him to see the car.
After viewing the car, the victim started negotiating with the three men trying to sell the car. That’s when the men suddenly attacked him, trying to rob him. The victim put up a fight which outraged the attackers.
One of the attackers then pulled out a gun and shot the victim while in front of his family. The injured father then stumbled into an intersection where he was then hit by a vehicle.
The three attackers fled the scene immediately.
Deputies later discovered the car he was trying to buy was reported stolen.
The victim, who deputies say was a hardworking innocent man, has not yet been identified.
Counseling would be available at a local Elementary School for any children who may have witnessed the traumatic incident.
