Former Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Supervisor Sentenced To 33 Months In Prison For Embezzling Money From Inmates

A former employee for the Dallas County Sheriffs office was sentenced to 33 months in a federal prison for embezzling money from inmates.

According to reports, Umeka Myers, a former supervisor for Dallas County Sheriffs, created fake debit card accounts over a 3 year span and bought various items online and used the accounts at different casinos.

Myers plead guilty to embezzling money from the inmates property funds at Lew Sterrett.

On top of having to serve nearly 3 years in prison Myers was also ordered to pay $429,000 in restitution.
