41-year-old Edward Hairston, from Parma, Ohio, was apprehended last month, in Florida, for attacking a law enforcement officer at the Orlando International Airport.

Hairston was charged with first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, and disorderly conduct. His bail was set at $50,000.

Reports indicate that Hairston was with a group of people who had been screaming and threatening employees at the Spirit ticket counter.

Hairston is then said to have reached behind the ticket counter, took the keyboard, and started pushing buttons.

When authorities tried to handle the situation, Hairston got into a physical distubance with an officer and put the officer’s neck in a chokehold. Other officers rushed in to help and wrestled with Hairston, as well.

Hairston was eventually transported to a medical facility as he was seemingly hurt in the incident.

The agent was eventually able to break away when other officers came to assist.
