Miami police are searching for a man they say was reported missing after the Carnival cruise they were on docked at PortMiami.

26 year old Kevin McGrath was last seen in his cabin on the Carnival Conquest Ship Monday around 2 a.m. The cruise line said his cabin mate said he was last seen in the cabin around 7 a.m. during disembarkation of guests.

McGrath was on the 3 day cruise with family celebrating his fathers 60th birthday when he was reported missing by family.

An extensive search went in to play and the U.S. Coast Guard was contacted. They quickly sprang into action and had a helicopter search the water and vicinity, in which the ship was docked.

Miami police also were called out and completed a thorough search of the ship. After reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol McGrath hadn’t been seen anywhere.

The ship was eventually cleared to depart.

McGrath is described as a black male, about 5’9, weighing about 170lbs. He has brown eyes and hair and was last seen wearing a black shirt and shorts with gray sneakers.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Detective M. Ritch Jr. at 305-715-3300 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
