Authorities in Fort Worth say that a man shot his brother early Sunday morning, prior to leaving the scene in a car that had his two small children inside.

The incident occurred just after 10 a.m. when authorities were called, regarding a shooting in the 400 block of Millbrook Lane. Officers then discovered a man with a gunshot injury. He was treated by emergency crews.

Detectives learned that the assailant was the victim’s brother, and he had left in a car with his two small children.

After the car’s description was given, a police sergeant reported he was following the suspect’s vehicle, close to FM 1187. The suspect would not pull over for authorities and continued driving into the city of Burleson.

The pursuit came to a halt when the suspect pulled into a church, close to John Jones and W. County Road 714. Authorities say that the suspect was apprehended, and his two children were handed over to a family member uninjured.

The suspect has not been publicly identified at this time, and it is not known what he will be charged with.
