A 14 year old student was arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat after allegedly sending a text threatening to shoot up a school.

On February 25, Midlothian PD received a disturbing call from a parent stating that their child received a text from an unknown number threatening to shoot up their school.

Apparently the text was sent to a group chat that included several students from Walnut Grove Middle School. When officers traced the number they learned it was created from a burner application which created fake phone numbers.

On February 26, Midlothian officers went to the campus that morning just as a precautionary while other officers patrolled the area and continued their investigation.

A student was later detained by Midlothian police and taken into custody at Ellis County Juvenile Detention Center. He is facing a facing a third-degree Terroristic Threat charge.
