4 people are dead after, authorities say; an Oklahoma mother shot and killed her 3 children and then took her own life.
On Thursday, the Verdigris Police Department responded to a residence after fireworks were spotted erupting near the home.
At the residence, 39-year-old Brandy McCaslin barricaded herself inside and made it known to officers that she was armed. After a 3-hour standoff with police, authorities entered the home and discovered McCaslin and her 3 young children dead.
According to police, McCaslin shot her children, ages 6, 11, and 10-month-old, to death before turning the gun on herself.
An investigation was launched as detectives work to figure out a motive for the murders.
