On Tuesday, close to 7:40 p.m., several people called authorities in regards to hearing multiple gunshots at a mobile park home. This was located in the 3900 block of Teasley Lane, in Denton, Texas.

Officers then learned that a child had been shot. That victim, a 10-year-old boy, was transported to a medical facility.

Reports indicate that the child and his mother had been standing outside of a home when 39-year-old Travis Rollins arrived to the location. Rollins got out of his pickup truck and fired shots towards the mother and son. He then walked up to the residence and shot his weapon several more times prior to getting back into his truck and leaving the scene.

Homes were hit by bullets, but no one else was hurt during the incident.

Rollins, from Midlothian, is said to be the ex-boyfriend of the victim’s mother. He was later found Tuesday night in Duncanville and was apprehended.

Rollins is now being held in the City of Denton Jail where he was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bail was set at $1.1 million.

The boy remains in a medical facility in critical condition, and an investigation is on-going.
