Two Teenage Girls Kidnap 3-Month-Old Baby

3.4kviews

Two Milwaukee teenage girls kidnapped a 3-month-old baby Wednesday morning.

The child’s mother, Schatina Cureton, allowed the teenagers into her home after believing they had nowhere else to go.

The two girls, ages 14 and 16, approached Cureton for help and told her they were homeless. They claim their mother’s boyfriend would molest them and that they were human trafficked.

Cureton let the girls stay the night in her home on Tuesday. When the mother woke up around 1:30 a.m. that night, she noticed the teenagers were gone and her baby boy, Anthony Crudup, was missing.

After looking everywhere in the house for her son, Cureton called 911 and reported the abduction at 2:17 a.m.

Five hours later an Amber Alert was issued for the kidnapped infant.

Police tracked down the teens to a residence around 1 p.m. and located the baby unharmed.

Both girls were arrested and booked into a juvenile detention center.

Three men at the residence, ages 19, 33, and 56, were all arrested on unrelated charges. The nature of their relationship to the kidnapping suspects is unclear.

While being investigated, the 16-year-old suspect gave a similar story to the one she gave Cureton. The girl explained that noone ever believes her about being sexually abused. She claims that everyone would pay attention to her if she showed up with a baby.

Police said they will be forwarding the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
