U.S. Cryonics Lab Has 200 Frozen Bodies and Heads In Hopes To One Day Be Able To Revive Them

A U.S. cryonics lab is hoping to bring your deceased loved ones back to life through the world of technology.

The lab currently has 200 heads and bodies that they are keeping frozen. The intended outcome is to have technology that has advanced enough to allow them to bring them back to life.

The Alcor Life Extension Foundation, a cryonics lab located in Arizona, is offering everyone the opportunity to one day have someone alive with them who has passed away.

For about $200,000 the company will freeze an entire dead body. Or for $80,000 you can have a head frozen courtesy of the cryonics process.

The bodies are kept in deep-freeze temperatures for decades, and sometimes even centuries. They are packed in ice and the blood in the body is replaced with a ‘cryoprotectant’ solution. This advanced solution stops the ice crystallization process.

Alcor then preserves the bodies by gradually lowering their temperature and storing them in liquid nitrogen. According to experts, to have a successful cryonics procedure, the freezing process should start within 60 seconds of when the human heart stops beating.
