White Settlement Bee Keeper Dead After Fire Errupts

A 78-year-old bee keeper is dead after authorities say a fire erupted in the backyard where the bees are tended to.

White Settlement Police and Fire Rescue responded to the 700 block of Vaquero Street after a neighbor reported seeing a fire around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered a bee-keeping organization in a backyard that was engulfed in flames. After putting out the fire, they discovered the body of 78-year-old Graham Davis.

According to the victim’s son, his dad was intending on harvesting honey at the time of the incident, however; it’s unclear what exactly went wrong.

Davis’s body was so severely burned that firefighters had a hard time depicting if he was wearing protective clothing or not.

Two officers and two firefighters were also stung while on the scene.
