Within two days of operation ‘Home Alone,’ the Collin County, Texas, sheriff’s office apprehended 15 people in late March.
The purpose of the undercover operation was to catch people who try to use the internet to prey upon teenagers. Several law enforcement agencies worked together to put the operation into motion.
“…parents must engage with their children about their devices and how to use them. Here in Collin County, we will continue to do what is necessary to protect our children,” said Sheriff Jim Skinner.
While investigating, officials recovered several electronic devices that were used by the suspects to carry out the crimes. These devices will undergo a forensic analysis which could mean more charges for the suspects.
Those apprehended face various charges of online solicitation of a minor, prostitution of a person less than 18, and sexual performance of a child. One person was charged with possession of child pornography.
Cristobal Alcaraz, Paul Bahrami, Everett Collins, Marqueze Collins, Kenneth Donihoo, Darryl Eastham, Joseph Guardino, Cesar Ibarra, Eliphas Osinde, Anselmo Sanchez, Jose Silverio, Dionte Smith, James Stevens, and Chris Whorley were arrested.
