Authorities in Dallas say that they have started an operation to combat prostitution. This is an issue that the city has asked that the department to assist them with.

Brandie Cox owns a veterinary company off of Harry Hines in Northwest Dallas.

“It’s 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it never stops, and it’s constant,” she stated.

Cox says that prostitutes are all over the neighborhood. She provided recordings, depicting prostitutes in her parking lot with barely any clothes on.

“It’s embarrassing as a business owner, and it’s a safety issue for us. But we are also concerned about these girls. They are getting younger and younger, and there is a lot of violence toward them, as well,” she added.

She also says that many business owners have tried to battle with the unlawful activities by themselves, but that has shown to be unsuccessful and is unsafe.

“We had a business owner last May have a gun put in his face when he asked two prostitutes to get off of his property. The ‘pimp’ came by 10 minutes later and threatened his life with a gun,” Cox said.

Authorities say that they have gotten several complaints from the surrounding neighborhood, so the vice unit started operations this week.

“Buyer beware. We want to make it as uncomfortable as possible as we can for individuals who go into that area and affect our businesses and our community in a way not positive for our city,” Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia stated.

Authorities say that so far during the sting, 30 men have been apprehended. Additionally, there have been a confiscation of four firearms, two cars, drugs, and $70,000 in cash.
