On Sunday night, Dallas police received a call about a burglary in progress.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they were told by residents that a man was in the yard, suffering from a gunshot injury. Roman Valle, 30, was then taken to a medical facility by Dallas Fire-Rescue. He later succumbed to his wounds.
Early in the investigation, officers learned that Valle had thrown a big rock through the window of the residence. He had also threatened the people who were inside of the home. A resident then fired a shot through the blinds that were closed, striking Valle. Reports note that the resident believed that Valle was there to hurt them.
No one is facing charges at this time, and the investigation is continuing.
