A suspected car thief was shot and killed by the owner of the car after being tracked down.
Harris County police responded to a call around 4 am near Louetta and Holsworth. Upon arrival they found a man deceased from a gunshot wound.
While investigating the owner of the vehicle told police the suspect stole his vehicle from an apartment complex at 4115 Louetta Rd. He then said he tracked his vehicle down and a fight ensued between him and the suspect.
He said the two then exchanged gunfire, he shot the suspect and called police.
The case has been handed over to the Harris County Sheriff’s Department and no charges have been filed at this time.
